Polyurethane Potting Compound
Also known as urethane adhesive, it is mainly divided into two types: polyisocyanate and polyurethane. Polyurethane potting compound is a key part of the rapidly developing polyurethane resin family. It possesses excellent electrical properties and is widely used across various applications. It is one of the eight major types of synthetic adhesives. Polyurethane potting compound offers outstanding impact resistance and shear strength, making it suitable for diverse electrical sealing applications with excellent flexibility.
Properties and Applications
Polyurethane potting compound has excellent elastomeric properties and can adapt to bonding substrates with different thermal expansion coefficients. It forms a soft-hard transition layer between substrates, providing not only strong adhesion but also superior cushioning and shock absorption. Its low and ultra-low temperature performance surpasses all other types of adhesives. Two-component electronic polyurethane potting compound features low stress, heat and cold resistance, thermal conductivity, and impact resistance, along with stable electrical properties. It can be applied manually or mechanically and cured at room or low temperatures. It is suitable for small and medium-sized electronic components, such as automotive ignition coils, solid-state voltage regulators, motorcycle electrical devices, igniters, capacitors, neon electronic transformers, ballasts, lighting starters, dry-type transformers, and relays.
